
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe spurred Kosei Inoue and other judokas from the All Japan Judo Federation as they paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister's Office in Tokyo on Thursday.
With less than 500 days remaining before the opening of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, Abe said: "I'm expecting to see a medal rush by Japanese athletes. I hope you will withstand the pressure and show the presence of Japanese judo."
Men's national team coach Inoue said, "I want to convey the wonder and strength of Japan to the world through judo."
