Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said he was willing to consider "various options" regarding the Japanese school year, at a meeting of the House of Representatives Budget Committeee on Wednesday.
Calls have emerged for the Japanese school year to start in September, as school closures have been prolonged due to the spread of the new coronavirus.
