BIKANER: Hanumangarh police arrested a 16-year-old boy along with his father and brother for allegedly abducting and raping a 12-year-old girl.
DSP Prashant Koushik said the 16-year-old Class 12 student found the 12-year-old girl, a Class 7 student, on Instagram.
He said that they reportedly fell in love and the girl ran away from her place on September 24 and reached the boy’s house where they lived as a couple for more than 10 days.
The girl’s parents filed a missing report and requested the police to find the girl, he said. During investigation, police found that the girl was in contact with the boy and they spent a lot of time online, he said.
The boy introduced the girl as a victim of domestic abuse at his place and his family allowed them to live like husband and wife, he said.
Acting on a technical input, the police were able to locate the couple and brought them to the junction police station for interrogation, he said.
The duo confessed that they had been in a physical relationship and therefore, the girl was prescribed a medical check-up at a government hospital, he said.
The boy along with his father and brother, who allegedly allowed the couple to live together, were arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act along with the charges of abduction.
The boy was sent to juvenile home, while the girl was handed over to her parents.
