Abdoulaye Doucoure was Everton's unsung October hero and deserves Player of the Month award

There was a bit of everything from Everton in October.

And so in trying to decide on the player of the month, it would be tempting to ignore the defeat at Southampton and, instead, just look at the win over Brighton and draw with Liverpool.

If we did that then Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored in both of those games, would be in contention, as would James Rodriguez too, while Lucas Digne would have a strong claim.

But this is an award for the whole month and so we have to take the rough with the smooth and factor in the loss on the South Coast.

Evertons best player that day? Abdoulaye Doucoure. He was also the unsung hero against Brighton and played very well in the derby draw with Liverpool.

The summer signing from Watford deserves the nod as Everton's player of the month.

Now, you've heard what we think - but do you agree?
