Abdoulaye Doucoure sends message to Everton fans over injury recovery and season hopes

Abdoulaye Doucoure has sent a message to Everton supporters regarding his recovery from injury and his hopes of playing again this season.

The midfielder had a foot injury confirmed ahead of his side's 2-0 loss to Chelsea last month with an initial absence of up to ten weeks speculated by Carlo Ancelotti.

However, in his pre-Brighton press conference on Friday, the boss seemed positive that the 28-year-old would return from his issue before the end of the campaign.

The Italian confirmed that Doucoure's last scan went well, and that he is set for another in three weeks to determine if he can return to training.

And the midfielder himself has now taken to social media to update fans on his recovery - making his hopes of playing again this season very clear.

"Hi everyone I hope you are doing well, my rehabilitation is going very well so far.

"I’m confident I can play this season again anyway I can't wait to come back on the pitch and finish this Season the strongest as I can.

"Thanks for all the support."

Doucoure has, so far, missed four matches in all competitions - with Everton failing to win any of them.
