Abdoulaye Doucoure believes Everton were "unlucky" to concede a penalty against Brentford and has called on his team-mates to give everything against Liverpool.
Ivan Toney's 24th-minute spot kick secured Brentford a first Premier League win in six games and condemned the Blues to another disappointing defeat.
Rafa Benitez’s side have now gone seven matches without picking up three points and currently find themselves six points above the relegation zone.
Toney struck from the penalty spot after Andros Townsend was penalised for a high boot on Frank Onyeka upon VAR review.

And while Doucoure believes his Blues team-mate was unlucky to be penalised, he admits his side once again made things hard for themselves.
“We conceded of course the penalty, it is a little bit unlucky. So of course it was more harder after to come back into the game,” he told talkSPORT.
“But in the second half we had chances, but unfortunately we didn’t score so we have to improve as tonight is a frustrating night for us. We have to come back very soon to get results.”
Salomon Rondon twice went close to drawing Everton level, while Doucoure also saw a header blocked by his team-mate towards the end of the first half.
“Yeah I had a good chance. There was a lot of bodies in there in front of me, but I should header more better to score the goal,” he said.
“It is the little things that make the difference and hopefully on Wednesday we will have more luck for us.”
Everton are winless since September 25 when they beat strugglers Norwich City 2-0 at Goodison Park following a bright start to the campaign.
It is the club’s longest winless run since April 2016 and has not gone unnoticed by the supporters, who made their displeasure clear after the full-time whistle.
Next up for Benitez’s side is the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night as the Spaniard comes up against his former club at Goodison.
But Doucoure believes Benitez’s focus will be solely on Everton and has called on his team-mates to give Blues supporters something to shout about.
He said: “It is a big game for everyone and of course we know Rafa has a story with Liverpool, but he is very focused on Everton now.
“We have to give everything now to have a great result in front of our fans.”
