ABC Brisbane's popular Breakfast program is expanding in 2018, with Weekends' presenter Rebecca Levingston to join current host Craig Zonca weekday mornings for a new co-hosted program.
The new Breakfast program is part of a big shake up for the station's line-up in 2018, which will also introduce a new national music and culture show, and two additions to the on-air presenting team.
ABC's Radio director Michael Mason said other capital cities found great success with co-hosted Breakfast programs.
"The industry benchmark for Breakfast is for a two-person presentation and in Adelaide the combination of our Breakfast and Mornings presenters has helped push that show to the top of its timeslot," he said.
Current Drive presenter Emma Griffiths will move to a new mid-morning program, Focus Brisbane, running from 10:00am to 11:00am.
Richard Fidler will share presenter duties with Sarah Kanowski on Conversations, which will continue its national broadcast from 11:00am to 12:00pm on weekdays.
Double J's Myf Warhurst will return to the airwaves with a new program showcasing Australian music, regional artists and music festivals.
The mixture of music and talk will be broadcast from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
The Afternoon and Drive programs shift later into the day with Afternoons from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and Drive from 4:00pm to 6:30pm.
New presenter Katherine Feeney will take over the Afternoons timeslot, with current Mornings presenter Steve Austin moving to the Drive program.
Kelly Higgins-Devine will present a statewide Evenings program from 7:00pm until 10:00pm.
Loretta Ryan will replace Levingston as the Weekends presenter.
ABC Brisbane's 2018 program begins Monday, January 22.
