Abba to release new singles 'sometime this year', says Björn Ulvaeus

Abba will release two new singles later this year, according to a recent interview with bandmember Björn Ulvaeus.

In an interview with CNBC, the Swedish hitmaker was asked when the erstwhile pop group’s long-awaited new music would arrive.

“I think sometime this year,” he responded. ”Yes, I think so.”

One of the songs will be titled “I Still Have Faith in You”, and the other is reportedly called “Don’t Shut Me Down”.

Abba released their last single to date in 1983 (”Thank You for the Music”). Prior to their split, the band had released a string of global hits in the 1970s, including “Dancing Queen” and “Waterloo“.

Asked what the group’s reaction was after returning to the recording studio for the first time in over 35 years, Ulvaeus said: “Oh, that was so great.”

“It took half a minute and somehow we were back in time like we had been there yesterday as well. It was so strange.”

He added: “That feeling between us was extraordinary.”
