Seat Ibiza found on fire after 4am arson in Townhill, Swansea

A burnt-out car has been found in the Townhill area.

Police are investigating after the scorched Seat Ibiza was discovered next to the Swansea Boys' Club, which overlooks the city.

The car was found on fire just before 4am on Wednesday, February 12.

The Swansea Boys' Club, in Berwick Terrace, has been abandoned and left untouched for many years.

South Wales Police said the car was not reported as stolen.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "Police in Swansea are investigating the circumstances surrounding suspected arson which involved a Seat Ibiza which was found on fire in the Townhill area of the city shortly before 4am on Wednesday, February 12."

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference 2000052697.

CLARIFICATION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the car which was torched had been abandoned. This is not the case and we have now corrected the article and apologise for any distress caused.
