WA Police say they have urgent welfare concerns for a man who is believed to be missing within the Stirling Range National Park in the state's Great Southern region.

A search is underway for 26-year-old Muhammad Ferdiansah, whose vehicle was found abandoned at the Mt Toolbrunup carpark on Saturday morning.

He has not been seen since.

Officers from local police and emergency operations will continue to search throughout the night, aided by the State Emergency Service and Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Helicopters and drones will be used in the search efforts.

Mt Toolbrunup is the second highest peak in the Stirling Range and is considered one of the toughest summit hikes in the national park.

Police have not confirmed why Mr Ferdiansah was parked in that location.

Mr Ferdiansah is described as being 175cm tall and of medium build with short black hair. It is not known what he is wearing.

Anyone with information about Mr Ferdiansah's whereabouts or anyone who has sighted his vehicle prior to Saturday morning is asked to contact police immediately on 131 444.
