Abandoned car found in River Avon near Brislington

A car was found in the River Avon today (Friday, July 17) by a member of the public.

Officers were called to the riverbank in the Brislington area and assisted with recovery efforts.

Nobody was found inside the vehicle, police said.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at 6.15am this morning by a member of the public regarding a vehicle on a riverbank in Brislington.

"Nobody was found inside the vehicle.

"Police attended and are assisting recovery efforts.”
