Aaron Wan-Bissaka showed experience beyond his years in Diogo Jota battle during Man Utd draw

Diogo Jota ran amok against Manchester United twice last season and had them in his sights again last night.

But he found himself restricted by the Spider as Aaron Wan-Bissaka rose to the challenge.

Wolves' Portuguese striker Jota scored in both Wanderers' 2-1 home wins over United in the Premier League and FA Cup.

The quick forward was aiming for a hat-trick against the Red Devils at Molineux.

With Wolves sitting deep early on to contain United, Jota and strike-partner Raul Jimenez were the outlet.

Quicksilver Jota certainly had Paul Pogba scared when the French midfielder blatantly tugged him back going towards United's box.

Pogba was lucky to escape without a booking for pulling the forward back.

But Jota likes to operate on the inside left channel and he found new £50million United right-back Wan-Bissaka a tough opponent.

Dubbed the Spider, Wan-Bissaka was able to use his pace to match Jota and his long legs to make several tackles.

From one challenge, Wan-Bissaka forced Jota into slicing a cross straight behind.

The pair enjoyed a highly-competitive tussle which made a fascinating sub-plot.

Jota, 22, drew a blank on the opening weekend at Leicester but is already off the mark in the Europa League.

He had few clear cut chances last night as United took the lead from Anthony Martial.

But he was still involved with a clever lay-off from Joao Moutinho's short corner which enabled his team-mate to cross for Ruben Neves to level.

The goal went to VAR to check as Jota spoke to referee Jonathan Moss – perhaps fearing the worst after Leander Dendoncker had an effort controversially ruled out at Leicester.
