Aaron Wan-Bissaka's family admit split loyalties as Man Utd face Arsenal

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be putting family loyalties aside when Manchester United take on Arsenal on New Year's Day.

Wan-Bissaka, 22, is set to line up for United for the trip to the Emirates as they look to boost their top four hopes.

The right-back missed the clash at Old Trafford earlier in the season but is relishing the opportunity to face his boyhood club.

Wan-Bissaka grew up an Arsenal fan but is determined to get three points for United, a sentiment echoed by dad Ambroise.

In a behind-closed-doors clip with Adidas, he asks his father: "What is more important - Arsenal winning or me playing well?"

"You playing well because I like you game by game to improve and play well, not for Arsenal to win."

Older brother Kevin isn't as sure though, adding: "See when you play against Arsenal, it is going to be a sticky one for me. I'd take a draw."

On his upbringing as an Arsenal fan, Wan-Bissaka's father said: "We have been supporting Arsenal since we saw Thierry Henry and how good he was.

"When we came to this country, Thierry Henry was good and everyone knew him at that time.

"When Aaron was growing up, I would call him Thierry Henry.

"When we supported Arsenal games, we must all sit down and watch."

The right-back has impressed so far for United since his big-money arrival from Crystal Palace in the summer.

United climbed into fifth in the Premier League with a win over Burnley on Saturday.

Arsenal's fortunes haven't been as good though with Mikel Arteta's side languishing in 12th after a dismal run of form.
