Aaron Wan-Bissaka has revealed Axel Tuanzebe is helping him settle into life at Manchester United as he reflected on his first few weeks at his new club.
The young full-back, who arrived for £50million from Crystal Palace in the summer, impressed on his competitive debut against Chelsea last weekend and looks set to play a prominent part in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's evolution of this United side.
The Norwegian wanted to pack his squad with young, primarily British players and signed Wan-Bissaka to slot in on the right side of defence.
And speaking to the Guardian , the 21-year-old spoke about adapting to life at one of the world's biggest clubs and how fellow defender Tuanzebe (who is just two weeks his junior) has become a good friend.
“I’ve become quite close to Axel Tuanzebe since joining the club," said Wan-Bissaka.
"He’s taken me under his wing a bit, though I must admit the whole squad has been looking after me.
"It has been really easy to come here and feel a part of things. Nobody’s left me out of anything; they all speak with me and interact and that’s really good. It’s been a huge help and I’d like to thank the fans, too, for giving us such support."
Wan-Bissaka was given a warm reception by supporters at Old Trafford last week as he performed superbly to help United destroy Chelsea 4-0 and is a cert to start against Wolves tomorrow (Monday) night.
"The crowd was amazing during the Chelsea game and I’ve heard great things about United’s away following as well," he added.
"Now it’s up to us to give them something to celebrate at Wolves."
On the make-up of Solskjaer's squad and the role he plays, Wan-Bissaka said: “What we have at United now is a good mix of young and experienced players and, speaking as one of the younger members of the squad, I think that’s important.
"We need people to set the standards to live up to, to set the tempo in games when we need it and the more experienced players in the dressing room are capable of doing that.”
