Aaron Wan-Bissaka outlines two targets at Manchester United

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has set targets for himself as an individual and for Manchester United as a team as the season reaches its business stage.

On a personal level, Wan-Bissaka wants to end the season with the most tackles by a  Premier League player.

It's a skill that the former forward honed in South London and he finished third in the tackle table last season with 129, but made more than any other defender in the league with only Wilfred Ndidi and Idrissa Gueye above him.

The right-back sits in second so far this season with 91 tackles to his name and has his eyes on top spot, but is currently behind Leicester's Ricardo Pereira who has 117.

"I think I’m second at the moment, and I’m happy with that for now, just to be right up there," the 22-year-old told United Review.

"It’s going in the direction that I want it to go. I’m working hard and improving my game all of the time, and I just want to continue doing that."

On a team level, Wan-Bissaka wants United to end the season with a trophy after they were handed favourable draws in the last 16 of the Europa League as well as the FA Cup quarter-finals.

"I think we’re in a better position than when I joined," he added.

"We didn’t start off great at first, not as the club is expected to do, so I think we’re moving in the right direction now. I’m very excited by the future. I think we’re getting closer to reaching our target.

"I came to this club to win trophies and I know that this team is capable of winning trophies. I think it’s a process. We’re going in the right direction and that’s what we’re aiming for.

“I think that will help a lot, getting our hands on the first trophy. It will boost our confidence and help us go on to the next [one]. That’s how Ole wants us to think: he wants us to get our first trophy, move on to the next one and just keep going for others.”
