Aaron Wan-Bissaka Man Utd shirt number: What is available to £50m transfer target

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to become Manchester United's second summer signing.

Crystal Palace had rejected two bids for the England Under-21s defender with the Eagles demanding more money up front.

United's offer had included 'unrealistic' add-ons and they were forced to increase their offer for the right-back.

A £50m deal has now been agreed with Palace with Wan-Bissaka set to travel to Manchester for a medical following the Under-21 European Championships.

United had been eager to get their business done early this summer but have had a frustrating transfer window to date, only signing Daniel James from Swansea.

But Wan-Bissaka will now arrive with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men returning to pre-season next week.

The 21-year-old will be given an extended break before linking up with his new teammates later in the summer for their tours.

United fans will be excited to see the youngster in action and many will already be wondering about his Old Trafford shirt number.

Wan-Bissaka wore the No.29 after breaking into the first team at Selhurst Park and that number is available upon his arrival at Old Trafford.

That shirt was previously worn by Wan-Bissaka's current teammate Wilfried Zaha during his ill-fated spell in Manchester.

Last season's squad numbers are subject to change but there are several options available to Wan-Bissaka if he wants to mix things up.

The No.19 was vacated when Marcus Rashford switched to No.10 last summer and hasn't been filled while No.21 is up for grabs after Ander Herrera's departure.

Other options include No.27, which was freed up when Marouane Fellaini moved to China in January, as well as 25, 26, 28 and 30.

The No.5 is also currently free but United are likely to leave it for a new central defender as Solskjaer moves to his other transfer targets.
