Aaron Wan-Bissaka has shown in two games that it was £50m well spent by Manchester United

Manchester United shelled out a whopping £50million on Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.

Wan-Bissaka only had one full Premier League season behind him at Crystal Palace but it was an impressive season.

The 21-year-old made his first team debut in February 2018, thrust into the limelight due to injuries at Selhurst Park, with his first three games against Tottenham, Man United and Chelsea.

He went on to become Roy Hodgson's first choice right-back in the 2018/19 season, and a string of stunning displays caught the eyes of some of the country's best clubs, with United snapping him up this summer in that £50million deal.

And just two games into the new Premier League season it already looks like money well spent.

Manchester United have kicked off the season with four points - thrashing Chelsea 4-0 at Old Trafford on the opening day, before a 1-1 draw away at Wolves on Monday night.

It could have been a perfect start to the campaign, but a missed Paul Pogba penalty stopped United making it six points out of six.

United look a different team than last season, with the big-money signings of Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire helping that.

Premier League 2019/20 - key fixtures

And the stats behind Wan-Bissaka's start to the new season prove it was the right decision.

In just two games, the former Palace man has made more successful tackles than any other player in the Premier League. Wan-Bissaka has made 15 tackles, two more than next closest Ricardo Pereira.

Only two Wan-Bissaka tackels that he has attempted have not come off, with the United right-back enjoying an 88% tackle success rate so far.

And if that continues he is only going to endear himself more to the United faithful and leave the Palace supporters to rue just what they're missing.
