Aaron Wan-Bissaka explains how Marcus Rashford has made him a better player

Aaron Wan-Bissaka says that coming up against Marcus Rashford day-in, day-out in Manchester United training is good for his development as a player.

There were some eyebrows raised at the £50million fee United paid for Wan-Bissaka to take him from Crystal Palace last summer, with the 22-year-old having only played 46 senior games at the time of his move.

But any lingering doubts over United's decision to shell out such a sum have now long gone, with the English youngster turning in consistent displays during his first season at Old Trafford to already become a favourite with the fans.

Wan-Bissaka's tackling ability and his defensive positioning have been lauded by United supporters as he's made the right-back position his own, and he says that coming up against Rashford has helped him develop.

When asked by a United fan on a Q&A on the club website just who his toughest opponent was in training, Wan-Bissaka said: "I’d say Marcus, yeah.

"He’s just so unpredictable. When I first joined United and came up against him in training, he was doing things that I just really didn’t expect.

"I thought he’d go a certain way and he’d go the other way, or I thought he was about to do one thing and he did another, so he’s really tricky to play against.

"I enjoy that though; it’s been really good for my own development to test myself against him and the other attackers we have at the club."

Wan-Bissaka was also asked who he thought was faster between quicksilver attackers Rashford and Daniel James, but he gave a diplomatic answer.

"I’d say over short distances it’s Marcus, but over longer distances it’s Daniel," he said.

"They’re both rapid!"
