Aaron Wan-Bissaka celebrates at Lowry Hotel as Man Utd prepare to confirm transfer

Manchester United new boy Aaron Wan-Bissaka underwent his medical on Wednesday night, before pitching up at the Lowry Hotel ahead of confirmation of his transfer.

The Crystal Palace defender will become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s second signing of the summer on Thursday, after the Red Devils agreed a £50million deal.

Wan-Bissaka flew to Manchester in a private jet after returning from England Under-21s duty after the Young Lions dismal European Championship showing.

Wan-Bissaka underwent club tests while members of his family and management team headed to San Carlo for dinner.

Just after 10pm, Wan-Bissaka returned to the hotel, before being met by his family with the youngster all smiles.

Wan-Bissaka, 21, will ink a six-year deal with the Red Devils, becoming United's fifth-most expensive signing.

Only Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Angel Di Maria and Fred have cost more.

Wan-Bissaka, handed his chance at Selhurst Park by Roy Hodgson and making the right-back spot his own, has agreed terms on an £80,000-a-week contract.

The move completes a remarkable rise for the Croydon-born youngster, who only made his senior debut for Palace in 16 months ago.

Now he will be United's first-choice right-back under Solskjaer, as the Norwegian plots an assault on the top four and a return to the Champions League in 2019-20.

Wan-Bissaka joins United as their second domestic purchase of the summer, joining Swansea's Daniel James, the Welsh winger who has arrived in a £15million deal.

Members of Wan-Bissaka's entourage in attendance at the Lowry included Herve Zaha, brother of Palace star Wilf, who works as a football consultant for Unique Sports Management, and his agent, Will Salthouse.

Wan-Bissaka joins United after starring for Palace last term, his displays for the Eagles seeing him named as the club's player of the season.
