Aaron Rodgers to Davante Adams sets up Packers’ first points of 2021

The first half did not go particularly well for the Green Bay Packers, but Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were able to set up the team’s first points of the 2021 season with a terrific play late in the second quarter.

Rodgers hit Adams for a 31-yard completion with seven seconds left, setting up Mason Crosby’s 39-yard field goal as time expired in the first half.

The Packers will hope the late field goal can spark a second-half comeback.

The Saints otherwise dominated the first half, taking a commanding 17-0 lead before the Packers’ late drive. New Orleans rushed for 140 yards and held the football for almost 22 of the 30 minutes.

The Packers ran just 12 plays on offense before the final drive. The Saints produced two touchdown drives featuring 15 plays each.

Matt LaFleur’s team trails 17-3 but starts the second half with the ball.

Adams caught three passes for 43 yards in the first half. Rodgers has just 69 yards passing.
