Aaron Rodgers tells NBC Sports he’s ‘excited’ about changes coming to Packers

It’s only a few days away from players reporting to training camp, but Aaron Rodgers says he is excited about the changes coming to Green Bay.

“I am excited about it,” Rodgers told Chris Simms of NBC Sports regarding the new coach and offensive system. “The most important thing with change is to embrace it, being comfortable with the uncomfortable. When you’ve been a system for so long, you have a way of doing things. The first part is being open to (change).”

Rodgers again reiterated that he “wants to be coached,” but he added that he also believes this new offensive system will benefit the team.

“The scheme works,” Rodgers said, referring to the Sean McVay-Kyle Shanahan-Matt LaFleur system. “The stuff they did against us last year, San Fran (under Kyle Shanahan), it’s unbelievable. We would watch on the sidelines going, ‘that’s pretty cool.'”

While it’s certainly the beginning of optimism season for most NFL teams, after a drama-filled offseason, Rodgers stressed the positive nature of the open-ended communication between him and LaFleur as well as with the other coaches in the quarterbacks room.

“It’s been fun. I have (LaFleur) in the room. I’ve got Nathaniel Hackett, who’s been around the game forever, who’s a great guy. And I’ve got Luke Getsy, who I’ve known for a long time,” Rodgers said. “So, life’s good. It’s exciting.”
