Aaron Rodgers Shares Telling Example of How His Approach to Rehab Is 'Nothing Normal’

Back on Sept. 11, the Jets' season appeared over before it had truly begun. New York quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles after attempting just one pass against the Bills, bringing the hype surrounding the Big Apple's junior team to a grinding halt.

However, Rodgers has insisted in interviews that he intends to return sooner rather than later—repeating as such to former Colts punter Pat McAfee on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday afternoon.

“There’s nothing normal about how I’m attacking this rehab,“ Rodgers said. “There is common practices about six weeks in a boot, and I was in a shoe in like 13 days. Again, this is just my mindset.”

Rodgers is seemingly gunning to contest some of the fastest recovery times from an Achilles injury in NFL history, such as Rams running back Cam Akers’s remarkable five-month recovery in 2021.

“I believe in the power of intention. I believe in prayer. I believe in … your mental status and the power of will. I believe in making room for the miraculous to happen, and I’m not talking about a woo-woo type of spirituality,” Rodgers said. “I’m talking about, sometimes miracles are doing things that people never thought was possible.”

The Jets have struggled without Rodgers, slumping to 1–3 to start 2023. Quarterback Zach Wilson has struggled, though he did show flashes during a 23–20 loss to the Chiefs Sunday.

“My mantra is just because something has never been done doesn’t mean it’s not possible,” Rodgers said.
