Aaron Rodgers presents Matt LaFleur with game ball after first career win

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers made sure he held onto the football after kneeling down twice to end his team’s 10-3 win over the Chicago Bears on Thursday night at Soldier Field.

He knew he’d need it.

Rodgers presented first-year coach Matt LaFleur with the ball in the locker room following the win.

“It’s not every day you get your first win as an NFL head coach,” Rodgers told LaFleur, who was then mobbed by the players in the middle of the victorious Packers locker room in Chicago.

Rodgers didn’t play his best game in LaFleur’s first game, but he promised he’d be better. First, the two shared a special moment in the locker room.

“After that last kneel down, I held onto that ball, because I wanted to give it Matt. Like I said, it’s a big deal winning your first NFL game as a head coach. I’m happy for him. It’s obviously a lot of fun working with him. And I told him, I’m going to be a lot better for him,” Rodgers said.
