Aaron Rodgers on retirements of Josh Sitton, T.J. Lang: ‘Thanks for always taking care of me!’

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers expressed gratitude and appreciation for the decorated careers of former Packers guards Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang. Both retired this offseason.

Sitton and Lang developed into the NFL’s premier guard duo in front of Rodgers during the early part of the decade.

“I’m proud to say I got to play and be protected by these two warriors TJ Lang and Josh Sitton,” Rodgers wrote. “No one had more fun, or made even the longest days more fun, than these two. Great teammates, great players and great men. Enjoy retirement my friends, thanks for always taking care of me!”

For the first nine seasons of Rodgers’ starting career in Green Bay, he had either Sitton or Lang starting along the Packers offensive line.

Both were tough and reliable. Both made Pro Bowls in Green Bay and both made Pro Bowls after leaving Green Bay.

Sitton, a fourth-round pick in 2008, played in 121 games and made 112 starts for the Packers between 2008 and 2015. He played two seasons with the Chicago Bears and one final season in Miami.

Lang, a fourth-round pick a year later, played 119 games and made 94 starts for the Packers between 2009 and 2016. He played his final two seasons in Detroit.

Sitton started at guard during the Packers’ Super Bowl win in 2010. Sitton and Lang were both starters during Rodgers’ MVP seasons in 2011 and 2014. Between 2011 and 2015, Sitton and Lang started all but four of the Packers’ regular season games.
