Aaron Rodgers denies yelling ‘hard count’ to draw Falcons offsides, which is too bad

Watching Aaron Rodgers work his magic at the line of scrimmage and force an opposing player offsides in order to get a free play is the most fun thing. You’d think after all these years that teams would figure out not to fall for it, but they still do!

The Atlanta Falcons fell for it in their Week 4 loss to the Green Bay Packers, and some fans who heard his call and thought he yelled “HARD COUNT!” to draw the defense across the line. That would be hilarious and somewhat troll-y that he would yell that.

According to Rodgers, that wasn’t the case.

He told Pat McAfee that he didn’t say that at all: “Why would I say “Hard Count?” That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen.” (WARNING: Some NSFW language ahead.)

That’s really too bad. Yelling HARD COUNT on a hard count and the other team falling for it is amazing.
