Aaron Ramsey tipped to star at Juventus by Italy legend Franco Baresi

Aaron Ramsey is a "great coup" for Juventus and will shine in Italy.

That's the view of Italy and AC Milan legend Franco Baresi, who is looking forward to seeing the Arsenal star up close, when he ends his 11-year association with the Gunners this summer.

The Welshman has signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Italian champions at the end of his current deal in North London.

Ramsey will move to Turin, joining Juve on a deal worth in the region of £250,000-a-week.

Juventus have to pay just £3.1million to register Ramsey, with club bosses backing him to add goals and energy to the side's midfield.

And Baresi has no doubts that he'll impress when he arrives in Turin.

"I've seen him play. He's obviously a great player," Baresi told the BBC .

"I think Juve has really landed a great coup there and I'm sure he'll be able to adapt to Italian football."

Ramsey has agreed a four-year contract with the Serie A leaders, who face Ajax in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.

Juve are focusing on winning Europe's elite club prize, with Serie A already sewn up.

And Baresi says Italy's other sides need to step up their game to challenge the Old Lady in the coming years.

" Juventus has owned Serie A in the last few years so it's important to see what the other teams can do in terms of growing," said Baresi.

"Teams like Inter, Roma, Milan, Lazio and Napoli are definitely all growing at the moment.

"Champions League qualification will be very important for Milan this year. It brings in money, it brings in opportunities for investment and chances to progress so it's important."
