Aaron Ramsey suffers post Rangers humiliation as Juventus green light eye watering fee to cut ties

Former Rangers midfielder Aaron Ramsey is on the verge of becoming a free agent after Juventus reached a resolution over his release fee.

Multiple reports from Italy state the Wales international will receive a severance package in the region of £3.5m to rip up his deal with the Old Lady. Ramsey has one-year remaining on his contract, however, Max Allegri's side have no use for a player who joined the Ibrox side on loan in January. The former Arsenal star's time in Glasgow was marred by injury and missing the decisive penalty in the Europa League Final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

And now Ramsey will begin his search for his next club in the wake of a proposed switch to ambitious Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk collapsed after their sporting director admitted a deal was on the verge of completion. The move would have led to a reunion with his former Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo.

The 31-year-old's need for regular game is stark, as he aims to be in prime condition ahead of Wales' first World Cup Finals appearance since 1958 . He is a stick-on to make the tournament if he is in form. Fellow national icon Gareth Bale plumped for a switch to Major League Soccer in a bid to be fit and firing for the Qatar event.

Ramsey made 13 appearances for Rangers in total, scoring twice, including the opener in the decisive title defeat to Celtic at Ibrox in April. He hobbled off in the Scottish Cup semi final two weeks later and was a peripheral figure during his final days with the Light Blues.
