Aaron Ramsey shamelessly stole Cristiano Ronaldo’s first Juventus free-kick goal

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 46 goals on free kicks in his club career, but he hasn’t been able to add to his free-kick goal tally since the move to Juventus last year.

On Wednesday, that nearly changed. Well, at least it should have changed.

During Juventus’ UEFA Champions League match against Lokomotiv Moscow, Ronaldo’s third-minute free kick went off the chest of goalkeeper Guilherme and through his legs. As the ball made the roll to the goal line (and certainly would have continued past it), Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey came charging in to poach that first Juventus free-kick goal away from Ronaldo.

I mean, look how close that was. Ramsey literally made contact with the ball at the last possible moment. It was enough to get Ramsey officially credited with the goal.

If Ramsey ends up getting the Gareth Bale treatment at Juventus, we’ll probably know why.

It’s never a good idea to steal a would-be, drought-ending goal from Cristiano Ronaldo.
