Aaron Ramsey set to be denied Arsenal swansong following hamstring injury

Aaron Ramsey looks set to miss the rest of the season and thus may be denied an emotional send-off by Arsenal fans ahead of his summer move to Juventus .

The Welsh midfielder was suffered a hamstring strain during the Gunners' second leg Europa League win over Napoli, and scan results appear to show that he will be out of action for the next two months.

This would mean missing Arsenal's season run-in as they look to cement a top four place and win the Europa League.

But perhaps even more pertinent is the fact that it means he will likely never be seen in an Arsenal shirt again, as he is set to link up with his new club Juventus in July.

Adrien Rabiot transfer: PSG chairman accused of 'poisoning' team over treatment

A statement on Arsenal's official website read: "Left hamstring. Continues to receive treatment and further assessment. Will miss Thursday's match against Valencia."

The injury is much worse than first expected, and although there is a slim chance he could still make it back for Arsenal's last league game against Burnley and a prospective Europa League final on May 29, Gunners fans may be resigned to never seeing their number eight in action again.

Arsene Wenger suggests Mauricio Pochettino was wrong to claim his players are tired

Ramsey has been a fans' favourite at the Emirates ever since he first joined the club from Cardiff City in 2008. In his time at Arsenal he has made a total of 369 appearances, scoring 64 goals, and was instrumental in helping his side win three FA Cups, scoring the winner in the 2013-2014 victory against Hull City and then again against Chelsea in the 2016-2017 final.

Supporters have questioned the logic of allowing him to join Juventus, although he is set to earn an eye-watering £400k per week at the Italian champions, a huge increase from his current salary of around £2.8m per year.
