Aaron Ramsey's agent issues emphatic response to Arsenal return transfer links

The agent of former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey has denied claims that the Welshman is eyeing a return to the Emirates Stadium.

The midfielder only left Arsenal two years ago, linking up with Italian giants Juventus after his Gunners contract came to an end.

Despite having claimed a Serie A winners medal in his first season at the club, Ramsey has found opportunities somewhat harder to come by in Turin, making just 32 starts over two seasons.

That has led to rumours that he could leave sooner rather than later in an attempt for more first-team football, with the Gunners talked up as a potential suitor.

football.london understands that a deal would be highly unlikely at this stage and now Ramsey’s agent David Baldwin has confirmed that a move back to the Emirates Stadium is somewhat fanciful.

Replying to a tweet suggesting Ramsey's intent to return to Arsenal, he said: "I'm sorry but can you stop making things up please. There is not a shred of truth in your tweet.”

Ramsey enjoyed an extremely positive first spell with Arsenal having joined the club from Cardiff City in 2008.

He went on to make a total of 371 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 65 goals in the process and playing a key part in three separate FA Cup successes.

The 30-year-old still has two years left to run on his contract in Turin.

Whilst a move for Ramsey looks highly unlikely at this stage, that has not stopped Arsenal from looking for other midfield options.

The likes of Ruben Neves, Sander Berge and Yves Bissouma have been strongly linked.

football.london understands that the Gunners had a first bid for Anderlecht’s Albert Sambi Lokonga rejected but are optimistic that a deal can be done for the young Belgian.
