Aaron Ramsey has been urged not to quit Juventus by his Italy pal Federico Chiesa.
Ramsey has become frustrated at Juventus because his Bosman move from Arsenal two years ago has turned sour.
He has been dogged by injury and has even hired his own medical and fitness team because he was unhappy with the treatment he was receiving from the Serie A giants.
Ramsey, 30, is unsettled in Turin, which has alerted a number of Premier League clubs, including his former Gunners and West Ham.
Chiesa played with Ramsey last season after joining from Florentina when the former Arsenal midfielder made just 13 league starts.
The Italy forward is relishing facing Ramsey and Wales on Sunday in their group decider at Rome’s Olympic Stadium and says he still has much to offer Juve.
“Aaron’s a great friend of mine and absolutely a great player,” said Chiesa. “He’s clever, technically strong and I appreciate him very much at Juventus.
“He had different injuries so he could not could not help the team as much as he wanted, but he is always competitive and has more to offer.”
Chiesa, 23, is likely to get his first start at Euro 2020 as Azzurri boss Roberto Mancini rotates his squad and the forward is also wary of Gareth Bale.
He dismissed talk that Bale is on the slide because of his indifferent season with Tottenham and claims he remains world class.
“Gareth Bale is a world-class player,” he said. “Wales are a very strong side, they are tenacious and it will be very hard to play against them.”
Chiesa is following in the footsteps of his dad, Enrico, who played for Italy at Euro 96 and France 96 and is a former Sampdoria team-mate of Mancini’s.
He is finding them big shoes to fill and despite managing 14 goals for Juventus, he has managed just one in 27 games for Italy.
“I’ve called my dad, but we haven’t talked about football,” he said.
“I know how to live this moment and I’m very happy to be part of this squad at the European Championship.
“I would love to leave a mark on this tournament by scoring and I know I need to improve my record.
“I will keep working hard, but first and foremost I need to think about the team.”
