Aaron Ramsey and Iwan Rheon have been pictured together and Game of Thrones fans love it

Ex-Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon and Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey have been pictured together, much to the delight of fans of the HBO hit series.

The actor and Wales footballer both attended the global premiere of Netflix's documentary series, Our Planet, held at the Natural History Museum in London.

Carmarthenshire-born Rheon posted: "Can you tell how exited I am", and said it was an honour to meet the Juventus-bound football ace.

Game of Thrones fans have picked up on the Ramsey connection, with ex-GOT actor Rheon's series character called 'Ramsey Bolton', who was killed off in season six.

Voiced by Sir David Attenborough, Our Planet has been created for Netflix with WWF and Silverback Films, whose director Alastair Fothergill was the creator of the Planet Earth and Blue Planet series.

Raising awareness of the world’s rarest wildlife and most precious habitats, and the threats they face, its eight episodes are available to stream on Netflix from today (Friday). The project has been four years in the making, with filming taking place in 50 countries across more than 3,500 days.

The Netflix premiere was on the same night as Game of Thrones actors hit the red carpet in their finery as they prepared to say goodbye to the show, which is in its final series.

HBO has confirmed that Game of Thrones season eight will begin on April  15 in the UK - much earlier than the previous month of release when season seven began in July 2017.

It will air in the US on April 14 and will be shown in the UK at 2am on April 15, meaning it airs simultaneously in both countries.

The episode will then be repeated in the UK, later on April 15, on Sky Atlantic.
