Aaron Morley reacts to Bolton Wanderers transfer as fans deliver verdict on latest signing

Aaron Morley has become the third transfer window incoming at Bolton Wanderers in January as the Whites continue to revamp the squad.

The 21-year-old has joined from League Two side Rochdale and put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal at the University of Bolton Stadium.

Bury-born Morley spent time in the Wanderers’ Academy as a youngster, after starting out at Manchester City, before completing his scholarship at Rochdale and progressing to the professional ranks at the Crown Oil Arena.

The midfielder's contract was poised to expire at Rochdale this summer but, like with Charles, Wanderers have paid a transfer fee to bring him to Wanderers rather than wait to potentially land him on a free in a few months from now.

Morley has gone on to play more than 120 times for the Spotland club and scored 10 goals for the League Two outfit, playing the majority of his games in League One.

New signing Morley has taken to Twitter to post: "Can’t wait to get started!"

And Wanderers fans on Twitter have warmly welcomed the new midfielder coming back to his old stomping ground as they have given a positive reaction to the fresh arrival.

@bwfcarchie posted: "Rochdale fans saying positive things. Only weakness is his defensive side but at 21 so much potential."

@lostockwanderer posted: "Not eligible for tonight, but that is a fantastic signing."

Andrew Broome wrote: "3 and 1/2 years. We’ve gone from short term desperate journeymen and freebies to long term planners with a clear vision in the last couple of years. Wonderful stuff."

Chris Dunn wrote: "Excellent news, just happy to see us signing people for a fee on a contract longer than one year. Few other clubs interested so bodes well he’s chosen to come too."

Jonathan Taft wrote: "One of the best midfielders in League One and League Two - with love from the Football Manager community."

Paul Armstrong wrote: "This kid can play."
