Aaron Mooy wanted by Celtic as Ange Postecoglou looks to 'persuade' Aussie into wage cut

Celtic are set to make a move to sign Aaron Mooy from Shanghai SIPG, according to a report.

Ange Postecoglou has already signed Osaze Urhoghide and now wants to add his compatriot if he can persuade him to make the move back across the world.

The former St Mirren midfielder is playing in China just now and would need to make a major wage cut to join Celtic.

But the Daily Record say Postecoglou hopes he can persuade him to make the move to Celtic Park

Mooy played under him for Australia and the former Brighton star could be keen to work with him again.

But it would require a financial sacrifice from Mooy to return to Scotland where he had a short time playing in Paisley at St Mirren Park.

He spent two seasons at St Mirren after joining from Bolton before heading back down under.

He played 30 times for the Paisley outfit and scored two goals before joining Western Sydney Wanderers.

The 30-year-old is best known in the UK for his time at Huddersfield and Brighton after signing for Manchester City.
