Aaron Lynch contract details revealed

Earlier this week, the Bears agreed to terms with free agent outside linebacker Aaron Lynch on a one-year deal to return to Chicago. Details are now coming out regarding the deal itself, and it appears to be a very team-friendly contract for the Bears.

According to Over the Cap, Aaron Lynch will make a base salary of $1 million with a $250k signing bonus. After signing with the Bears in 2018 for $4 million, Lynch takes a significant pay cut to come back to Chicago and the Bears bring back their third outside linebacker at a very reasonable price. Lynch finished the 2018 season playing in 13 games with 16 tackles, three sacks, and one interception. He missed the final three regular season games and wild-card playoff game due to an elbow sprain.

Contract details were also revealed for long snapper Patrick Scales and defensive back DeAndre Houston-Carson. Both are back on one-year deals at the league minimum of $720k. These deals leave the Bears with approximately $17.7 million left in cap space.

Injuries have always been a concern with Lynch throughout his career, but when healthy, he provides much-needed depth to the outside linebacker position. How do you feel about the signing now knowing the contract details?
