Everton unveiled their new signing Aaron Lennon and it looked like they had unveiled a new man.
When he initially signed from Spurs on loan he was forced to protest how delighted he was after being pictured looking more miserable than is traditional on such occasions (“I was over the moon when I got the call”).
This time he was all smiles after concluding a permanent move for £4.5m and signing a three-year deal, which may have had something to do with the signing-on fee he presumably received.
The winger made 14 appearances and scored two goals for Everton after joining on loan in February and his manager Roberto Martínez said: “He had a major role in the second half of our season and we’re looking forward to Aaron kicking on and continuing to enjoy his football, as well as being the productive player we know he can be.”
