Celtic's hopes of landing Aaron Hickey appear to have taken a hit this evening after reports emanating from Italy claimed he'll cost a whopping €8million.
The Hoops have been strongly linked with the Bologna full-back after the 19-year-old conjured up a string of impressive displays in Seria A last season.
He might've moved to Italy less than a year ago but it seems Hickey is now valued at a much higher price than the £1.5million shelled out to Hearts for his services in 2020.
According to Il Resto del Carlino, a popular newspaper based in Bologna, Hickey is wanted by both Celtic and Fiorentina but he'll now cost around four times his initial cost at €8million.
Hickey has been with Celtic previously, having been part of the Parkhead club's youth set up as a boy, and it remains to be seen whether or not the Hoops hierarchy would sanction such an expensive deal.
New manager Ange Postecoglou is known to be in the market for defensive reinforcements, with centre-backs Carl Starfelt and Mario Vuskovic thought to be high on his summer wish-list.
