Aaron Hickey 'transfer fee agreed' with Hearts defender heading to Italy to join Bologna squad

A fee has been agreed between Hearts and Bologna for the transfer of Aaron Hickey, according to a report.

Sky Sports say that a £1.5million deal has been struck between the clubs, with Hickey set to fly out to Italy to meet up with his new teammates in the coming days.

The 18-year-old has been subject to weeks of transfer speculation with a host of massive clubs vying for his signature. Bayern Munich and Manchester City are among those credited with an interest.

However it emerged in the last week that Bologna were the front-runners, and they now appear set to get their man.

Reports in Italy yesterday suggested that Hickey could earn around €200,000 each year when he completes the move.

Celtic will be due 30 per cent of any transfer fee as part of a sell on arrangement included in his contract when he moved to Tynecastle from the Scottish Champions.
