Aaron Hickey's enormous Celtic transfer asking price 'named' as Bologna ramp up Parkhead target value

Bologna are reportedly holding out for more than four times what they paid out for Aaron Hickey amid interest from Celtic.

The Scotland youth international left Hearts for Italy last summer with the Serie A side paying out around £1.5million as the 19-year-old penned a deal until 2024.

Hickey grew up supporting Celtic and spent some time in their youth system, with rumours swirling that he could return to Parkhead this summer as the club look to bolster their defensive ranks.

However, Italian newspaper Il Resto del Carlino claim that Bologna have slapped a massive price tag on the starlet to put off potential suitors.

They claim that I Rossoblù want at least £8million for the talent after an injury-plagued debut campaign in the Italian top flight.

It is noted that Celtic value the former Tynecastle kid at closer to £4million with Fiorentina also keen on a deal this summer.

There is reportedly no real interest in selling Hickey having given him time to recover from a shoulder injury niggling ahead of a return to pre-season.

Hickey made 11 Serie A appearances in his debut season before his campaign was cut short by the knock.

The likes of Champions League regulars Napoli have also been touted as potentially making a move for the young Scot.

Ange Postecoglou appears keen to bolster his backline with Swedish centre-back Carl Starfelt in talks with the club.
