Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic tried out his Scottish accent as he told Aaron Hickey he should be playing for the senior national team.
The left-back pulled out of the last Under-21 squad as he focused on his form for his Serie A side.
There have been calls for Steve Clarke to hand him a senior Scotland call, but Hickey is once again in Scot Gemmill's pool for the upcoming matches.
Sitting alongside his manager at a press conference the Hearts youth graduate was asked about his international prospects, and given a good-natured ribbing by his boss.
Here's the full transcript as Mihajlovic tried his hand at some Scots, which you can watch in the player above.
Hickey: "Scotland called me up for the Under-21s the last time, and we had a game against Lazio and I felt a wee knock in my knee.
"I just didn't want to risk anything going so I'd rather stay here at Bologna than risk anything playing for Scotland."
Mihajlovic: “It’s like CNN, isn’t it? Like a TV news programme.”
Interpreter translates Hickey's answer
Mihajlovic: “He should be in the senior team surely? We'll announce it now.
“Who is in your position?”
Media: “Robertson.”
Mihajlovic: “Leave it, I want to see if he understands…. Robertson?”
Hickey: “Yeah.”
Mihajlovic: “Ah, he’s rubbish. Who plays in your role?”
Hickey: “Robertson. And Tierney.”
Mihajlovic: “What do your team-mates call you? Aarrrron? How do I say it? What should I call you in Scottish?”
Hickey (not understanding): “Robertson.”
Mihajlovic: “I don’t understand a f******g thing. Robertson? No, Rrrrobertson. Aarrrrron.”
Hickey was this week linked with a move to giants Milan, having been personally scouted by Paolo Maldini.
