Aaron Hickey in shock AC Milan transfer link as Serie A giants 'plot' January move for Hearts star

Hearts defender Aaron Hickey has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Italian giants AC Milan, according to a report.

The full-back has impressed since breaking into the Tynecastle team last season and Milan are taking a close look at him.

The Serie A outfit are on the lookout for a new left-back with Ricardo Rodriguez set to join Fenerbahce in a €17m deal.

And respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio insists the 17-year-old is one of two young defenders on Milan's shortlist to replace him.

Hickey has been on Manchester City's watch list since last year while Celtic and Rangers are also interested in signing him.

City were believed to have held talks about Hickey's future during a meeting with Hearts in December.

The rising Hearts star has just 27 senior appearances for Hearts and grabbed his first goal with a stunning winner against Hibs earlier this season.

And the other player is Wigan defender Antonee Robinson, who started his career at Everton.

The English-born US defender only moved to Wigan on a permanent deal last summer.
