Aaron Hickey amongst top 100 most valuable youngsters in Europe alongside Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland

Bolgona left back Aaron Hickey has been named amongst the top 100 prospects in Europe alongside superstars such as Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Alphonso Davies.

The former Hearts youngster, who made a £1.5m summer switch to Serie A from Tynecastle, could have ended up as Davies’ understudy in Bavaria after going for a look round at the European Champions.

But in the end he opted for Bolgonese rather than Bratwurst and picked Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team to continue his career.

He’s started the last five games I Rossoblu have played, and his potential is recognised as being up there with some of the very best young talents currently playing in the continent’s top five leagues.

The CIES Football Observatory have named him as one of Europe’s 100 most valuable young players, using an algorithm to estimate how much players born in the 2000s are worth.

Hickey, with an estimated value of €5million, was 97th in the list but the only Scot to be included.

Davies was top with a value of €180.4million, followed by Dortmund’s Sancho at €125.6million.

Barcelona’s teenage sensation Ansu Fati was third at €122.7million, just ahead of Dortmund and Norway goal machine Haaland at €120.3million.

Below Hickey in the ratings were Juan Miranda of Real Betis, Ivan ilic of Hellas Verona and Stade De Reims Nathaniel Mbuku.
