Aaron Finch breaks his own Twenty20 cricket batting record

Australian cricket captain Aaron Finch has broken his own record to help Australia claim a 100-run victory over host nation Zimbabwe in the second game of cricket's Twenty20 tri-series.

Finch blasted 16 fours and 10 sixes on his way to 172 runs from just 76 balls.

The performance smashed the previous record of 156 runs that Finch posted against England in 2013.

The Australian skipper said the match on Tuesday was one of the best batting performances of his international career.

"It's up there," he said.

"I suppose any time you get a few out of the middle like that it's always nice.

"We started off quite well and just got on a little bit of a roll there so I think when you're playing on a really good surface like that in some conditions where the ball travels quite a bit, it was nice to get a few away."

Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza said Finch was impossible to contain.

Australia posted 2-229 from its 20 overs, and Zimbabwe was restricted to 9-129 in reply.
