Aaron Donald named PFF 2020 midseason All-Pro

Aaron Donald is off to his predictable hot start this year, recording a whopping nine sacks in eight games – which is tied for the league lead. He’s been as disruptive as ever, leading the NFL with 48 total pressures.

Pete Carroll said this week that Donald could have 20 sacks right now because he’s come so close a number of times, raving about the veteran ahead of Sunday’s matchup between the Rams and Seahawks. Pro Football Focus also threw some praise Donald’s way, selecting him as a midseason All-Pro at defensive tackle.

He was the only Rams player to make the team.

In a shock to absolutely nobody, Aaron Donald remains not just one of the game’s best defenders but arguably the best player in the league.

He leads the NFL with 48 total pressures, and despite claims that his run defense is a weakness, he has the third-best PFF run-defense grade of any interior defender this season. Donald remains a force that can be quietened in impact only by a concerted effort and game plan each week.

Donald is certainly in the running for Defensive Player of the Year again, and many have him as the favorite. The Rams are fortunate to have him and his presence is a big reason they have the second-best defense in points and yards allowed.

He’s almost a lock to be an AP All-Pro at the end of the year, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he reaches 20 sacks again like he did in 2018.
