Aaron Donald is an aggressive player, and last week against the Browns, it cost him a fair amount of money. He hit Baker Mayfield high, a play which he called “my mistake,” drawing a 15-yard penalty.
He was fined $21,056 for the hit, according to ProFootballTalk.
Donald has gotten off to his usual slow start, recording just one sack in his first three games. That doesn’t mean he’s been ineffective, of course, as he’s consistently generated pressure on the likes of Mayfield, Drew Brees, Teddy Bridgewater and Cam Newton.
He’ll try to add another sack to his total on Sunday against the Buccaneers, which is a favorable matchup for Donald.
