Aaron Connolly ends goal drought with sublime finish for Brighton in win over Burnley

Aaron Connolly ended a long wait for a third Premier League goal in some style against Burnley today.

The Galway man burst onto the scene with a brace against Tottenham back in October with a debut for the Republic of Ireland senior team coming in the same month.

But while has featured in and been a big part of Brighton's Premier League campaign, the striker had not found the net since.

That changed at Turf Moor as Connolly, 20, showed his pace and power to brush off a Burnley before curling a shot perfectly past Nick Pope and inside the far post.

The goal proved to be the winner in a 2-1 victory for the Seagulls after Chris Wood had cancelled out a Yves Bissouma opener.

Brighton finished the season in 15th place with 41 points - a record Premier League points haul for the club.
