Aaron Carter tried to sell his stunning $800k home just days before sudden death aged 34

Aaron Carter was in the process of selling his $800,000 home just days before his sudden death aged 34.

The singer turned rapper was found dead 'in the bathtub' at his home in Lancaster, CA on Saturday morning. An official cause of death is unknown and it likely will not be disclosed until an autopsy and coroner’s report has been completed.

The star announced he would be selling his stunning mansion on Twitter last weekend: "Selling my 2nd home. Real estate has been super good to me. Ready for a new chapter in my 3rd home which I plan on staying to make a beautiful life for my family.

"This year has been super tough but I’ve learned so much - thanks for the support everyone.”

His sprawling seven bedroom and four bathroom house even comes with a custom made outdoor swimming pool which is surrounded by palm trees. The advert states: "Looking for Your Own Private Oasis! This Stunning Home Offers Numerous Enhancements.

Images show a grand piano, a jacuzzi bath and a huge flat screen TV mounted on the wall. The former pop star, best known for his albums Aaron's Party and LØVË, initially listed the property for sale on Sept. 30 for $829,900 before slashing $30,000 from the price just over a week before his death.

The I Want Candy singer found fame at just nine years of age, and has previously spoken about the downsides of being a child star. He said: “Life, it was pretty tough. I dealt with a lot of trauma, a lot of loss, a lot of loneliness. I just felt like I needed to get away.”

According to TMZ, Aaron's body was found in his bathtub and police 'received a 911 call at 11 AM Saturday that a male had drowned in the tub'. The outlet reported that homicide detectives have been 'dispatched to the scene, but have no information or evidence of foul play'.

After news of his passing surfaced, his on again off again girlfriend Melanie, 30, who is the mother of his son Prince, posted a two-second clip of herself crying on TikTok. She filmed herself driving as she was overcome with emotion after seemingly finding out about Aarons death.

Aaron became a father in November last year. However, he and on-off girlfriend Melanie split just two days after they welcomed their son.

"I'm going to be a good father. I know it," he told PEOPLE in 2018. "I want lots of kids, lots of stability, lots of happiness and laughter and learning and having fun. It's going to be good."

Announcing Aaron's death, his agent said: "Right now it’s a really bad time we’re trying to figure out what happened and what the cause of it was. We’re just as upset as everyone and hope that fans can give thoughts and prayers to his family."

Aaron, the brother of Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, was launched into the spotlight after he opened for his brother's band during their 1997 tour. His relationship with his siblings was strained over the years and in 2019 his brother Nick filed a restraining order against him, alleging he threatened to kill his pregnant wife and unborn child.

Carter acknowledged the restraining order on Twitter at the time but denied the allegations of threatening behaviour.

A representative of Carter's team said last night they are still determining the cause of death. In a statement, they said: "We are extremely saddened and shocked to confirm the passing of Aaron Carter today.

"At the moment his cause of death is being investigated. We ask that you give the family time and they will have more information when available. We cannot express the outpouring of love coming in."

In recent years, Carter made the move to rap music in recent years, throwing off his child star image with a number of face tattoos. He also had a history of drug convictions and reportedly went to rehab on a number of occasions.

Following the news, figures from the world of music paid tribute to Carter including US boyband New Kids On The Block. Sharing a black and white photo of the later singer, the group wrote on Twitter: "We are shocked and saddened about the sudden passing of Aaron Carter. Sending prayers to the Carter family. Rest in peace, Aaron."

Carter's ex girlfriend Hilary Duff paid tribute to the late star and praised his "effervescent charm". The pair famously dated on and off between 2001 and 2003 and he even appeared in Duff's famous Disney Channel sitcom, Lizzie McGuire.

Duff wrote: "For Aaron - I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent... boy did my teenage self love you dearly. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy."
