Aaron Carter's body has been cremated as family decide on resting place after tragic death

Aaron Carter has been cremated by his family, with his twin sister Angel Carter holding onto his ashes until the family decides on his final resting place.

The singer, who is the brother of Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, was sadly found dead in the bathtub of his Californian home on November 5. He was just 34 years old.

Aaron's cause of death is yet to be confirmed, with more tests needed to determine exactly what killed him.

His manager, Taylor Helgeson said he had been "extremely optimistic" about the future and discussed making new music prior to his untimely death.

Aaron's mother, Jane Carter, was the first to inform authorities about her son's passing, according to his death certificate which was obtained by TMZ.

Aaron's heartbroken sister Angel paid tribute to her brother after his death was announced.

Sharing a series of pictures of the two of them throughout the years on Instagram, she wrote: "To my twin… I loved you beyond measure.

"You will be missed dearly. My funny, sweet Aaron, I have so many memories of you and I, and I promise to cherish them. I know you’re at peace now."

Nick also took to social media to share a tribute to his brother.

Writing on Instagram, he said: "My heart has been broken today. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded.

"I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.

"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss."

He added: "But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz.

"Now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth. God, please take care of my baby brother."
