Celtic have reportedly had a transfer bid rejected for Aaron Boupendza.
The striker has scored 22 times for Turkish outfit Hatayspor in the Super Lig this season.
And newspaper Millyet claim that Celtic are the front runners for his signature even amidst interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
The outlet reports that a £6.5million bid has been rejected, despite the Scottish Premiership club not having a permanent manager nor sporting director in.
Negotiations are apparently set to continue, but having oly made the switch from Ligue Un club Bordeaux last year, Boupendza’s preference is thought to be staying in Turkey for now.
The 24-year-old is usually deployed as a central striker but is able to play anywhere across the front three.
The forward areas will have to be strengthened at Parkhead this summer. Striker Odsonne Edouard is almost certain to leave as Celtic look to cash in on him as he enters the last year of his contract.
Leigh Griffiths’ future remains up in the air with no confirmation that a year’s extension option will be taken up by the club.
Swiss front man Albian Ajeti has struggled to reach the required standards after arriving from West Ham last summer and Polish signing Patryk Klimala has already been sold to New York Red Bull.
The only confirmed new signing for next season is Liam Shaw from Sheffield Wednesday.
Eddie Howe remains the favourite to succeed interim boss John Kennedy.
