AAP to commence civic poll campaign with a resolve to bring ‘revolutionary change’

NEW DELHI: AAP will commence its campaign for the civic polls on Thursday with the launch of “Booth Samvaad” to reach out to people and propagate the work done by Delhi government. Cabinet minister and in-charge of Delhi unit, Gopal Rai, announced that preparations were on to reach every household.

Rai said, “AAP has taken the resolve to bring a revolutionary change and provide relief to people by ending BJP’s tyranny. A strategy to oust the corrupt BJP from the corporations and to form an AAP administration will be made at dialogues conducted at booths across Delhi from February 24 to March 10.”

“The party got a good response to its MCD Badlaav Campaign launched last year with 20 lakh new members. All new and old members of AAP, as well as those who wish to actively campaign for change in the corporations, will begin the dialogue at the party's 13,000 booths,” added Rai.

At each booth, committees of active members willing to volunteer would be formed, including a working committee of 20 people. Party members would spread out and initiate dialogues with local residents.

“The party has begun preparations for the upcoming elections in full swing. We have received a positive response from the public. The dissatisfaction of people with the corrupt BJP corporations will lead to our success through these campaigns,” Rai said.

On March 12 and 13, AAP’s “MCD Parivartan Yatra” would be held in the 70 constituencies attended by all assembly-level workers, lawmakers and party functionaries.

“About 20 lakh people of Delhi have joined us in this fight against corruption and injustice. Now all our karyakartas and office-bearers will consolidate this force to initiate our booth samvaad programme. We will sit down with the locals at every booth and chalk out a comprehensive plan to remove BJP from the corporations in the next elections,” said Durgesh Pathak, AAP’s corporation in-charge.
